Now in its 8th year, the conference has become a key event for all business aviation industry professionals working in regulation, finance, legal, operations, ownership and management.

Patrick Margetson-Rushmore, CEO, London Executive Aviation, attended for the 5th time this year and commented:

“The Isle of Man Aviation Conference is one of the main aviation conferences in Europe that is worth attending. It’s already in my calendar for next year!”

This year also welcomed many new delegates to the conference. First time attendee Helen Hollins, Private Aviation Insurance Specialist, La Playa commented:

“I enjoyed my first time at the Conference very much and have certainly never attended one which ended in a song! I thought it was incredibly well organised, with excellent networking opportunities and the right balance between work and fun.”

The conference was chaired by Graham Williamson of Tag Aviation (UK) and included a speech by Sir Richard Gozney KCMG CVO Lieutenant Governor of Tynwald. A programme of presentations and panel discussions by high-profile speakers followed; The full programme is available here.

The event ended with a sing song along to ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life”, led by the chairman and Synergy Aviation’s Dave Edwards. Please click here to see the conference video.

Following the main event, delegates were given first-class treatment on board the Isle of Man Steam Train to Castletown. The attendees were then welcomed to Castle Rushen for an evening of historic charm with the freedom to explore one of the best preserved medieval castles in the world.

The conference and event could not have been as successful without the sponsorship of so many high profile industry companies, both local CSP’s and international organisations.

Nicole Taylor, Marketing and Legal Support Co-ordinator at Martyn Fiddler Aviation, and organiser of the conference told us:

“The Isle of Man Aviation Conference is a pleasure to organise and a privilege to be a part of. This year we rebranded the conference, bringing a fresh lease of life to the event. We have also worked hard to include last year’s feedback to ensure that we make the conference as good as it possibly can be. It was fantastic to see so many new face, we were thrilled to hear that so many delegates were recommended the event by regular attendees. The conference really showcases and reflects the Isle of Man team’s unique ethos towards business in terms of expertise, organisation, energy and charm.”

Speaker and regular attendee, Simon Williams, Director of Civil Aviation, Isle of Man Aircraft Registry, stated:

“Business Aviation has got a great story to tell. The Isle of Man has a great story to tell. The combination of those two things is absolutely compelling.”

The Martyn Fiddler Aviation team have already begun planning for next year conference which will take place on 27th June, 2019.

We hope to see you there!
