The Rise of Inclusive Leadership
Business aviation has always been shaped by people with vision, resilience and a deep respect for the craft of flight. Across the charter sector, remarkable leaders are strengthening organisations and reinforcing the supply chain that keeps this industry moving. In this article we spotlight a few extraordinary leaders.
One such example is Stella Jets LLC of Southlake, Texas. Majority owner, Tia Minzoni, leads an all female owned aircraft company where the ownership team, executives, investors and staff reflect a wide mix of backgrounds and perspectives. Interviews with Minzoni confirm that the company values diversity as a driver of education, innovation and strong decision making, and that young people should be able to see themselves represented in leadership roles within aviation.
Another influential figure in the charter space is Sibongile Sambo, founder and CEO of SRS Aviation in South Africa. Her journey began after she was rejected for a flight attendant position due to minimum height requirements. She sold her car and borrowed money from family members to start her aviation business. In 2004, she founded SRS Aviation, and by 2006 the business earned its Air Operating Certificate. Today, SRS Aviation provides VIP charter, cargo transport, medical evacuation, tourism flights and additional aviation services. They also invest in new pilots and actively support women entering the sector.
Across the wider supply chain, leaders are equally instrumental in advancing business aviation. Tanzanian aviator and entrepreneur Susan Mashibe founded Tanzanite Jet Center, now VIA Aviation, in 2003. After training as a certified pilot and aircraft maintenance technician in the United States, she returned to Tanzania and established the first company in East Africa to provide full logistical support for private aircraft, including refuelling, clearances, security and hangar facilities. VIA Aviation now serves corporate, diplomatic and private flights across Africa, and Mashibe continues to advocate for STEM education to support the next generation.
These examples affirm a shared truth. Business aviation thrives when leadership reflects a broad range of experiences, when operational expertise is matched with courage and curiosity, and when companies empower people to bring their full potential into the cockpit, the hangar and the boardroom.
Martyn Fiddler shares that philosophy. For over forty years, we have provided clarity and stewardship to business aircraft owners, supporting them as they buy, sell and manage high value assets. We would be proud to work alongside the remarkable charter companies and supply chain leaders shaping the future of our industry.
